Yes, your deductible will increase along with the age of your pet. After your pet reaches 5 years of age it will go up, and then go up again after they reach 10 years of age.

Your premium, on the other hand, isn’t affected by your pet’s age. It could go up by a modest amount each year – this is based on the cost of providing insurance coverage for pets in your area.

Neither your premiums nor your deductible will increase based on the number of claims you submit.

How do you calculate my pet insurance premium?

We look at a few different factors when it comes to your pet insurance premium – the species and breed of your pet, and your postal code. What we don’t look at are the age, gender, or neuter status of your pet – or any other similar factors. It’s based on what we project it’ll cost to care for your pet over its life span.
