Yes, we insure duplexes and triplexes in all provinces where Sonnet offers home insurance – whether you live in them or not. But, there are a few things you should know before you
- We’re unable to cover a multi-unit residence that has more than three units.
- Only one street address per policy is allowed. If you own other properties, you’ll need to quote for separate policies for each. If your building has multiple address numbers, but you file the taxes under a single address, you only need to do one quote for that address.
- If you own a triplex, live in one unit and rent out the other two units, your triplex would be covered by a homeowner’s policy, not a landlord policy.
- Be sure to confirm that the building’s address and details (total number of bathrooms, square footage, etc.) displayed in your quote represent the entire building. If they don’t,
just get in touch – we’re happy to help.
